Best Dental Floss for Full Arch Dental Implants

If you are considering getting full arch dental implants or already have them, you may find that you need special tools to properly care for certain areas of your mouth. These are some of the dental implant cleaning tools that we found to be useful for ourselves.

Important Note

Prior to using any of these tools, be sure to contact your dental/healthcare professional to confirm if these are the appropriate tools for your personal situation. Also check with your healthcare professional on when is the appropriate time to begin using these tools (e.g. how long after your dental implant surgery) so that you don't risk damaging your implants and prosthetics or creating delays in your recovery/healing time.

Choosing A Dental Floss

A soft and large diameter floss is ideal for cleaning the areas between your prosthetics and gums as well as around the posts of your implants. Dental floss made specifically for people with dental implants usually includes any combination of:

  1. a stiff floss threader end,
  2. a soft & spongy floss that expands to form a larger diameter string that contacts more surface area, and
  3. a regular floss

The best dental floss will be the one that fits the space between your gums and your prosthetic the best and allows you to comfortably clean your posts and implants well. This may require you to experiment to find the right floss thickness as well as the right floss theader stiffness that works for you.
